We believe every company will have a central company agent.

A powerful, universal AI harness that works across the systems, tools, data, and people that make up a company. One place to ask, build, analyze, automate, and act.

Today, companies are fragmented across hundreds of systems. Humans are the middleware between them, moving information, carrying context, checking dashboards, coordinating workflows, and turning what happened in one system into action in another.

The company agent changes that.

A single agent, powered by persistent universal memory, its own secure compute environments, and deep integrations across your stack. It can understand context across systems, use the tools your company already uses, write and run code, create new workflows, and take action wherever work happens.

It becomes the common AI layer across the company, not another application sitting inside one part of it.

And we believe something this important should be yours. Your company, your agent.

For too long, having infrastructure truly be yours meant building it yourself: tens of millions of dollars of investment, years of engineering, and the permanent burden of security, uptime, maintenance, and operations.

At Adapt, our job is to build the infrastructure for your company agent.

You control its intelligence, memory, tools, permissions, usage, and behavior. What it has access to, and what it doesn’t. You can extend it, customize it, and deploy it around the way your company actually works.

Adapt was founded by Jim Benton, Sean Smith, and John Andrew Entwistle. I co-founded ClearSlide, led Apollo.io, and ran Chorus.ai through its $575 million sale to ZoomInfo. Sean brings neuroscience and database systems expertise. John Andrew co-founded Coder.com and built Wander, the leading luxury travel marketplace.

We build Adapt together in San Francisco’s Presidio, five days a week. Headline, Activant, and 40+ operators and angels back us.

The company agent will become foundational infrastructure for every business. A massive accelerant to every company that adopts it. We believe that infrastructure should be open, portable, and controlled by the companies that depend on it.

How we think and work

01

Customer trust

We are inside our customers’ most sensitive systems. That access is earned every day, in how we handle their data, how we scope what Adapt can touch, and how plainly we tell them what it did.

02

Expect excellence and lead by example

We hold a high bar and we hold it first for ourselves. Nobody here asks for work they would not do, or ships quality they would not accept from someone else.

03

Integrate 70%, innovate 30%

Most of the hard work is meeting companies where they already are, across the systems they already run. We spend the rest inventing the parts that do not exist yet.

04

Agency

If it matters, you own it until it is done and verified. We build a product that acts on its own initiative, and we hire people who do the same.

05

Best intelligence

The frontier moves every few weeks. We stay model-agnostic and route to whatever is genuinely best right now, so our customers get the ceiling instead of whatever we bet on last year.
