Ad Optimization

What is Ad Optimization?

Your ads are organized into Ad Groups (sets of ads and related keywords within a campaign). Whenever there are two or more ads in an Ad Group, we automatically analyze the performance of each ad against your Initiative goals, so you can single out the best ads and delete the ones that are performing poorly.

Why should I optimize my ads?

To get the most from your paid search dollars, ongoing testing and refinement is essential. Optimized ads help you attain your goals faster by allowing you to delete underperforming ads.

How do I use the Analyses with Recommendations graph?

Your keyword appears at the top left of the graph. Below are the two ads that were compared. The ad that best helps you to attain your CPA goal displays in the green box. The ad that hurts your ability to achieve your goals appears in the orange one.

This graph also displays your total ad spend during the course of the ad's history, plus its average CPA, conversions, clicks, and impressions.

How do I know WebVisible Enterprise (formerly Adapt SEM)'s Recommendations are valid?

WebVisible Enterprise (formerly Adapt SEM) provides recommendations when the volume of impressions, clicks, and conversions is high enough, and the degree of difference is great enough for us to reasonably say that one ad or landing page is a clear winner.

Is there a reason why test results are not displaying?

If there are many ads within a single Ad Group or campaign, WebVisible Enterprise (formerly Adapt SEM) compares one ad against all the other ads. This type of testing may take up to several weeks before a recommendation is offered.

If you have many ads running at once, you may want to reduce the number of ads in each Ad Group to obtain faster results. You can also take a look at Analyses in Progress to see how things are coming along.

What are Analyses in Progress?

WebVisible Enterprise (formerly Adapt SEM) is still testing ads in this section to determine which ones are performing. Once a winner has been determined, results will display in the Analyses with Recommendations section.

What are Solo Ad Groups?

Solo Ad Groups contain only one ad. You can create new ads to run with a solo ad, or combine solo ads to form new Ad Groups. As soon as you add a new ad or group ads together, we'll immediately begin an analysis.
