How do I know if I should implement a keyword recommendation?

We advise that you carefully review all keyword recommendations. Keyword addition recommendations are a time-saving tool to help you implement new keywords to maximize your campaign, and will not necessarily help you achieve your CPA or CPC goal. In fact, adding new keywords will increase your daily ad spend and may actually have a negative effect on your Initiative goal.

There are times when you'll want to add new keywords, such as when you're adding a new product or service to your site, or if you're new to search engine marketing and setting up your first campaign. However, if your campaign is meeting the goals you've set, we suggest that you be very cautious when adding new keywords.

If you decide to implement new keywords, we recommend that you set up a separate campaign, assign the new keywords to it, and track those results. When there is enough data, Adapt SEM will make recommendations on those keywords.

How do I add new keywords to my search engine account?

Once you've provided Adapt SEM with your Ad Network Info, select "Do it!" next to the suggested keywords and we'll automatically add the new keywords to the correct campaign/Ad Group where the original keyword was located. If you want to accept all suggested keywords, go to the "Add New Keywords" list and select "Make All Keyword Changes".

How do I delete a keyword from my campaign?

Just select "Do it!" next to the keyword in the "Keyword Deletion Recommendations" list. We'll automatically delete the selected keyword directly from your ad network account. If you want to delete all keywords, select "Delete Underperforming Keywords".

How do I activate an inactive keyword?

There are two different ways to activate inactive keywords:

  • Select "Do it!" next to the keyword you want to activate. We'll automatically update the bid for the selected keyword in your ad network account. If you want to activate all inactive keywords, select "Activate All".
  • Alternatively, you can manually edit bids for inactive keywords so match the amounts reflected in your ad network account.

To learn how to edit bids manually, check out the Bid Changes section.
